Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tater Salad (ranked 24546 p4p, 24795 weight class) and Jett Fletcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fletcher has chosen Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tater Salad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jett Fletcher!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salad fails in his attempt to clinch.
Despite the aggression on Fletcher's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Tater Salad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Salad looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fletcher cracks a nice hook into Salad's ribs.

Fletcher shoots in and bounces Salad off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Salad keeping moving, preventing Fletcher from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salad is working an open guard so Fletcher takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Fletcher fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salad sprawls well initially but Fletcher persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fletcher prevents Salad from standing back up.
Fletcher is stalling here. Salad is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Fletcher seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Salad has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Salad goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Fletcher has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Salad but great work by Fletcher.
Fletcher is looking to take a break and control but Salad is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Salad is not content to let Fletcher control the position.
Salad parries the strikes from Fletcher easily there. Fletcher is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Salad to escape.
Salad is trying to get back to his feet.

Fletcher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Fletcher advances nicely into full mount.
Fletcher won't let Salad get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fletcher goes for an armbar but Salad turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Salad.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Salad won't allow Fletcher to sweep him here.
Salad stays in close to Fletcher's body and controls the position.
Fletcher is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Salad trying to control the position from guard on top but Fletcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jett Fletcher dominated that round.
That's time! Salad's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Salad misses with a takedown attempt - Fletcher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Salad is looking to clinch.

Salad shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fletcher napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fletcher wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Salad connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Fletcher some visible discomfort.
Fletcher tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Salad is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fletcher has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Salad performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Fletcher trying to control the position.
Salad wanted to stand there but Fletcher had control of the position.
Salad connects with a couple of short punches.
Salad not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fletcher is looking for a triangle but Salad pushes his legs off easily.
Salad throwing strikes but missing.
Salad is working Fletcher over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Salad controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Fletcher is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Salad wants to stand and escape but instead Fletcher has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Fletcher won't allow Salad to get back to his feet.

Fletcher stands and steps away. Salad gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Fletcher defending well as Salad loads up on a big left hand.
Salad throws a poor cross that misses
and Fletcher cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Fletcher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Salad forces Fletcher back against the cage and clinches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Fletcher.

Fletcher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fletcher fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salad to the ground. Fletcher is now in Salad's guard.
Salad wants to stand and escape but Fletcher is having none of it.
Fletcher trying to control but Salad is working from the bottom.
Salad is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Fletcher working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Fletcher trying to move into half guard but instead Salad has managed to sweep!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fletcher trying to keep a closed guard but Salad is proving a slippery customer.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jett Fletcher will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Salad takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Fletcher shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Salad is trying to defend but Fletcher finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fletcher looks to land a strike but Salad avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Salad might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fletcher stops Salad from standing up.

Fletcher tries to free his leg and advance position but Salad is retaining full guard.

Fletcher gets to his feet - Salad follows without any prompting.
Salad looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Salad darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fletcher trying to control but Salad postures up.
Fletcher tries to get to full guard but Salad has control of the leg.

Salad seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Salad has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fletcher is looking for a sweep. Salad is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fletcher is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Salad pulls his head out easily.
Fletcher is looking to control Salad's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fletcher avoid being mounted?
Fletcher takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fletcher tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Salad has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Salad controlling the pace for now.
Tater Salad overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fletcher is working to get back to half guard.

Salad working for a submission but Fletcher is keeping him at bay.
Salad landing strikes, looking to finish!
Salad raining down shots from the mount!

Fletcher really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Salad unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Fletcher wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Salad celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tater Salad!
Post fight, Tater Salad stared into the camera and said 'Old Ass Tater Salad Will Get You Every Time!'.
