Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dalton Prez (ranked 4231 p4p, 4364 weight class) and Paul Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dalton Prez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Maxwell!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prez rushes Maxwell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Maxwell prevents the takedown attempt.
Maxwell is trying to pull guard but Prez has him pressed against the cage.
Prez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Prez is working for takedown but Maxwell is calmly controlling the position for now.
Maxwell gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Prez.

Maxwell has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Prez uses from the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Prez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Maxwell quickly recovers to half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A close round but Paul Maxwell will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Prez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maxwell circles away.
Prez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maxwell pinned against the cage. Maxwell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Maxwell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Prez as he jumps to the side.
Prez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
It seemed like Maxwell was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Maxwell goes for a double leg but Prez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Prez continues to drive forward.

Prez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Prez connects with a nice short shot to Maxwell's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prez is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Maxwell is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
