Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Nikora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lysander Pollio!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pollio misses with a left hand
and Nikora connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pollio has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nikora finds it's way round the side to connect with Pollio's head.
It looks like Lysander Pollio has been cut.
Pollio uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Nikora has time to react.
Lysander Pollio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pollio dives in and scores a takedown into Nikora's guard.
Pollio lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Pollio postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Nikora is looking to stand up but Pollio isn't so interested in that idea.
Pollio working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Nikora is rocked!
Nikora is breathing heavily.
Pollio postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Nikora's head off the mat! Nikora is out! He's out! Pollio jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Lysander Pollio!
An out of breath Lysander Pollio thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
