The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Ahokas wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance. Ahokas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Ahokas getting side control. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ahokas seems to be working for a kimura but Gracie defends the submission attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie wants to control but Ahokas is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done.

Gracie is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. Ahokas is keen to just control but Gracie is a slippery customer.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ahokas haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Gracie is trying to escape the mount.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ahokas controlling from the full mount. Ahokas looking to control but Gracie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Ahokas takes the fight on points by 11 to 0. A relieved looking Juha Ahokas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
