This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 20 losses; Thomas Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Bennett tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fiachna sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bennett somewhat.
Bennett shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fiachna as he avoids it easily.
Fiachna feinted with a counter takedown.
Fiachna closes the distance and clinches up with Bennett, looking for a takedown. Fiachna pushes Bennett against the ropes but Bennett circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fiachna looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bennett shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fiachna sprawls well. Fiachna wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bennett gets slowly back to his feet.
Darragh Fiachna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Bennett.
Fiachna fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Fiachna is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Bennett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bennett drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fiachna manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bennett has Fiachna in his guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Fiachna (2) vs (2) Bennett
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fiachna controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bennett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fiachna can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fiachna trying to control the position from guard on top but Bennett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fiachna pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bennett is keeping the position for now.
Bennett is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fiachna is aware though and is defending well.
Bennett is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fiachna defends well.
Fiachna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bennett swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fiachna trying to control but Bennett is working from the bottom.
Fiachna is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bennett keeping moving, preventing Fiachna from controlling successfully.
Fiachna got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bennett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fiachna has managed to get both his arms back between Bennett's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bennett is looking to regain half guard here but Fiachna keeps moving and retains side control.

Fiachna is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bennett is trying to escape and Fiachna transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bennett is forced to tap! Nice work there by Fiachna! Very nice indeed!
