Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Favela Samurai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sito Qobakeri! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samurai closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Samurai really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Qobakeri can't break the clinch.
Samurai is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Qobakeri wants to break free but Samurai has control.
Samurai keeps control of Qobakeri as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Qobakeri working hard to break the clinch. Samurai lands with a right to the head. Samurai has Qobakeri pressed against the cage, preventing Qobakeri from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Qobakeri tries to break the clinch but Samurai is controlling the position. Qobakeri wants to get back to striking at distance but Samurai won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Samurai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Samurai closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Samurai breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Samurai drives through and clinches with Qobakeri against the cage.
Samurai gets through Qobakeri's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Qobakeri is trying to force a seperation but Samurai has the dominant position. Qobakeri wants to break free but Samurai has control.
Samurai effectively controlling the action here. Samurai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Samurai lands a really nice looking cross but Qobakeri seems unphased.
Qobakeri is rocked! A head kick by Qobakeri misses letting Samurai counter with a right hand. Qobakeri is still on wobbly legs! Can Samurai finish him? Samurai closes the distance and clinches. Samurai is stalling here.
Qobakeri is trying to break the clinch but Samurai has him pressed against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Qobakeri looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Samurai creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Qobakeri with a big uppercut! Qobakeri tries to clinch up but Samurai pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Qobakeri to the mat! Qobakeri covers up and Samurai unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Favela Samurai!
