Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Violence (ranked 1046 p4p, 2301 weight class) and Ton Tyk (ranked 166 p4p, 359 weight class). Violence comes to the cage accompanied by Poi E - Patea Maori Club. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Violence darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Violence prevents Tyk from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Violence knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tyk on the ground.

Tyk has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Violence can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Violence passes Tyk's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Tyk changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Violence tries to avoid it but Tyk manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Violence to the ground. Violence escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Violence feinted with a counter takedown.
Tyk dives in and grabs Violence's left leg, looking for a takedown. Violence pushes down on Tyk's head and hops out.
Violence attempts a counter takedown but Tyk avoids it well and moves away.
Tyk fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Violence changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Tim Violence has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ton Tyk.

Tyk throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Violence tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tyk is in Violence's guard.
Violence wants to stand and escape but Tyk is having none of it.

Tyk is trying to control. Violence wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Violence pushes Tyk off looking to stand but Tyk dives back in and keeps control.

Tyk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Violence is just riding it out for now. Tyk eventually gives up the hold.
Violence wants to get back to his feet.
Tyk is trying to control the action in half guard but Violence is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Tyk is looking for a kimura but Violence is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tyk to get the leverage.

Violence is defending against the submission attempts here by Tyk.
Violence is trying to stand back up but Tyk is controlling him
