Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grant Harklie (ranked 774 p4p, 646 weight class) and Alexei Thorgard (ranked 95 p4p, 81 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Harklie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Holycrud. Grant Harklie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harklie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thorgard.
Harklie shoots in but Thorgard avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice takedown defense from Thorgard. No joy for Harklie on that attempt.
Thorgard connects with the punch.
It looks like Grant Harklie has been cut.

Harklie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thorgard sprawls well. Thorgard wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harklie gets slowly back to his feet.

Thorgard throws out a loose jab but Harklie uses good head movement to avoid it.

It seemed like Thorgard was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Harklie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Thorgard's guard.
Harklie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Harklie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thorgard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Harklie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Thorgard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Thorgard working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Harklie is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Thorgard scores with a couple of nice shots.

Thorgard misses with an uppercut. Harklie saw that one coming.
Thorgard keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Thorgard lands a big uppercut and Harklie crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Harklie looks OK. Thorgard waves Harklie back to his feet!
Harklie ducks under a wild hook from Thorgard.
Thorgard cracks Harklie with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Harklie tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Thorgard pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Harklie is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexei Thorgard!
A less than humble Alexei Thorgard misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
