PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Morres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tory Kitcha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morres comes to the cage accompanied by Drop the World. Tory Kitcha told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Morres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tory Kitcha!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kitcha takes one on the button.
Kitcha fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Morres really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kitcha takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Morres misses with a two punch combination.
Morres tries to clinch but Kitcha is having none of it.
Kitcha avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Morres tries to clinch there but Kitcha circles away.

Morres misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Morres tries to clinch up.
Kitcha shoots in for a double leg but Morres sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morres has his takedown stuffed

and Kitcha counters with a takedown into side control.
Kitcha passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Morres!

Kitcha working for a guillotine from mount but Morres is in no mood to give up.
Morres in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Kitcha is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Morres has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Morres!

Kitcha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Morres can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Morres has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Morres stands and steps away. Kitcha gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Morres drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kitcha had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Morres is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kitcha Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Morres's back instead.
Kitcha lands a shot to the head.
Morres is breathing heavily.

Kitcha is cranking Morres's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Morres! He's tightened the choke and Morres is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tory Kitcha!
