Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Spiffy Pippin (ranked 3192 p4p, 25276 weight class) and FrankFurt Livingstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). FrankFurt Livingstone is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Spiffy Pippin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, FrankFurt Livingstone!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pippin blocks a jab.

Pippin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Livingstone sprawls well initially but Pippin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Livingstone tries to kick Pippin off but Pippin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Livingstone throws a hook but Pippin blocks it.
Pippin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Pippin has managed to clinch.

Pippin gets control of Livingstone's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pippin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Pippin controls Livingstone momentarily but Livingstone frees himself.
Pippin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pippin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Livingstone. That did some damage!

Pippin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Livingstone manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Livingstone wants to stand up but Pippin is controlling him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Spiffy Pippin will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Pippin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Livingstone quickly recovers to half guard.
Pippin winds up and cracks Livingstone with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pippin in particular looking to stall.

Livingstone is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Livingstone is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Pippin gets to his feet. Livingstone looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Livingstone tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pippin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pippin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Livingstone throws out the jab.

Pippin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Livingstone is trying to break the clinch but Pippin is controlling him.

Livingstone wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Pippin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pippin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pippin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Livingstone, up you get!

Livingstone is trying to force a seperation but Pippin has the dominant position.

Pippin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Livingstone regains guard immediately.

Pippin pushes Livingstone off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Pippin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Livingstone enables Pippin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Livingstone manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Pippin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Livingstone doesn't manage to clinch there - Pippin circles away.

Pippin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Livingstone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pippin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Livingstone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Pippin stuns Livingstone with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pippin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Pippin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Livingstone for as long as he can get away with.
Pippin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Well Pippin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
