The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Cleefe misses with a few strikes there.
DJ throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

It looks like Lee Van Cleefe has been cut.

Van Cleefe goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, DJ rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Van Cleefe's guard! Nice work there by DJ!
Van Cleefe controls DJ momentarily but DJ frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Cleefe pulls DJ in close to prevent any damage.
DJ wants to get up but he can't break Van Cleefe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

DJ wanted to stand there but Van Cleefe had control of the position.
Van Cleefe controls DJ momentarily but DJ frees himself.

DJ gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
DJ lands a head kick. Van Cleefe smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
DJ lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Lee Van Cleefe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DJ lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Van Cleefe is looking to close the distance but DJ sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Van Cleefe crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Van Cleefe is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
