Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rice Flair (ranked 2199 p4p, 22281 weight class) and Edson Barboozer (ranked 279 p4p, 494 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Edson Barboozer was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rice Flair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edson Barboozer! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flair throws a body shot but no joy. Flair cracks Barboozer with an uppercut from hell and Barboozer crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Flair's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
It looks like Edson Barboozer has been cut. Barboozer looking to control but Flair passes into half guard.
Flair content to control rather than advance. Flair's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Barboozer is trying to get back to full guard. Flair controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barboozer wants to get back to full guard. Flair content to control rather than advance. Flair continues to stall. Further stalling from Flair.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Flair looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rice Flair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barboozer just misses with a punch to the body.
Flair gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Barboozer can't find room to land a body shot as Flair controls the action.

Nice body punch from Flair. Flair makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Flair lands a shoulder strike. Flair has a couple of punches blocked by Barboozer.
Barboozer's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Barboozer missing with knees to the body.
Still in the clinch, Flair scores with a nice short uppercut. Flair blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flair misses with a hook to the ribs.

Barboozer is rocked! Flair creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Barboozer's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Barboozer drops to his knees and Flair pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rice Flair!
