Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Waldron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waldron ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Waldron throws a hook but McGuire blocks it.
McGuire misses with an uppercut
and Waldron counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Waldron looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McGuire throws a sloppy head kick and Waldron moves out of range easily.
McGuire misses with a lunging right hand
and Waldron counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
McGuire throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Waldron counters with a nice uppercut.
McGuire throws a right hand that misses
and Waldron counters with a nice leg kick.
McGuire looks winded!
Waldron delivers a nice body kick.
Waldron throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
McGuire has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Waldron scores with a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGuire walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Waldron rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but McGuire has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
McGuire gets tackled into the ropes by Waldron. Waldron maintains the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Waldron cracks McGuire with a big elbow that drops him to the floor! Great elbow by Waldron! Will McGuire beat the count? 2,3,4,5 - he's back up on 5 and seems OK to continue. Back to the action!
McGuire is rocked!
It looks like Vincent McGuire has been cut.
Waldron fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McGuire is still on wobbly legs! Can Waldron finish him?
McGuire misses with a right hand
and Waldron counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
