Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Bruce Chang (ranked 2235 p4p, 3225 weight class) and Gaizka Elizondo (ranked 295 p4p, 395 weight class). Chang's entrance music is Kung Fu Fighting ft. Fatboy Slim. A fine choice. Elizondo has chosen Peewee Longway & Money Man - Ooowwweee as his entrance music. On his way into the ring it seems that Bruce Chang has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Bruce Chang seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Chang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 33 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gaizka Elizondo! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elizondo lands with a hook. Chang tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Chang gets a clinch. Elizondo told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Chang throws a punch but it's blocked by Elizondo. Elizondo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chang on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Elizondo. Elizondo obviously looking to wear him down.
Elizondo misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Chang counter with a right hand. Elizondo thows a leg kick but Chang checks it and Chang counters with a lovely straight right hand! Chang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Elizondo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gaizka Elizondo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A nice leg kick from Elizondo, right into the meat of the thigh.
Elizondo throws a leg kick which misses Chang's front leg but catches the back leg as Chang tries to avoid it. Elizondo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chang. Elizondo swings widly with a right hand
and Chang counters with a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A low kick from Elizondo misses and Chang connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Elizondo throws an overhand right that lands on Chang's shoulder, as Chang tries to avoid the shot. Chang moves away from the strike by Elizondo. Elizondo misses with a straight right. Chang has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Canadian Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight. Chang slips under a jab from Elizondo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chang moves out of range as Elizondo strikes. Gaizka Elizondo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A swing and a miss from Elizondo. Chang was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. A low kick from Elizondo is predictable there and Chang counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Elizondo throws a lazy right hand but Chang sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Chang gets a clinch. Chang lands a right hand that snaps the head of Elizondo backwards. Chang digs a right hand into Elizondo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Elizondo's gas tank. Elizondo blocks a body shot from Chang. Chang works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Elizondo looks winded! Elizondo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Chang lands a nice shot to the body. Chang lands a nice uppercut. Stalling in the clinch from Chang.
A nice left hand lands by Chang.
Chang works on Elizondo's body with a couple of short punches. Good body shot from Chang.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chang lands an uppercut. A short left from Chang. Chang leaning his opponent against the ropes. Chang lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Chang lands a left hand that snaps the head of Elizondo backwards. Chang misses with a short punch on the inside. Chang can't find room to land a body shot as Elizondo controls the action.
Elizondo tries a body shot but Chang blocks it.
Chang softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes. A short right from Elizondo. Chang fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Chang misses with the head strike.
Chang has Elizondo pressed against the ropes, preventing Elizondo from circling away and getting back to striking at range. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chang lands a shoulder strike. Chang working some nice short punches in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Chang creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Elizondo is rocked! Chang lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Elizondo is still on wobbly legs! Can Chang finish him? Elizondo is trying to push Chang away but Chang has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Chang lands a left hand that snaps the head of Elizondo backwards. Chang breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Elizondo with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Elizondo looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Elizondo get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Bruce Chang! Bruce Chang decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. Gaizka Elizondo spoke after the fight, saying 'gonna take some time off '.
