Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rossi is fending him off so far but Gomes persists. Nope, Rossi circles away and we're back to standing.
Rossi stuffs the takedown attempt from Gomes. Gomes gets slowly back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gomes wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Gomes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gomes fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leonardo Gomes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gomes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rossi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rossi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Gomes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rossi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gomes somewhat.

Rossi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gomes to the mat! Gomes manages to get full guard.

Gomes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rossi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Rossi trying to control but Gomes is working from the bottom.
Rossi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gomes kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Rossi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gomes working for a triangle but Rossi defends it easily.
Gomes is breathing heavily.
Rossi wants to stand but Gomes is controlling his posture from full guard.
Rossi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rossi is sitting in close to Gomes's body. Gomes has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rossi is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rossi is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gomes.
