Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max House!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trayvon Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
House misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lewis.
Lewis with the counter takedown but House avoids it easily.
Lewis shoots in but House avoids the takedown attempt easily.
House jabbing away but nothing is landing.
House moves out of range of the strikes.
House was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
House lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lewis digs a good hook to House's body.
House avoids the body shot from Lewis.
House throws a hook but Lewis blocks it.
House takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A swing and a miss from House.
Lewis swings widly with a right hand
and House counters with a nice uppercut.
Lewis throws a body shot but no joy.
Lewis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and House connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lewis scrambles back to his feet.

House avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
House jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lewis misses with a takedown attempt - House sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A little feinted left hand from House on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Lewis misses the shot to the body.
House definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Lewis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. House did well to prevent Lewis getting side control.
Lewis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Lewis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Lewis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so House is just riding it out for now. Lewis eventually gives up the hold.
House trying to control here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lewis missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Lewis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lewis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
House is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lewis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

House is trying to stand up here but Lewis is controlling him well.

Lewis seems to be working for a kimura but House defends the submission attempt.
Nice strikes from Lewis there.
House is trying to get back to full guard.
House is working hard here to advance position.
Lewis trying to control from half guard but House is working away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
House has hold of Lewis's hands but Lewis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
House is looking to improve his position.
Lewis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
House tries to roll over but Lewis keeps him under control.

Lewis seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. House is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Trayvon Lewis!
