Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, KJ Hoodwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micah Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoodwell throws a leg kick
and Hawk counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hawk avoids the head kick by Hoodwell.
Hoodwell throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hawk with the counter takedown but Hoodwell avoids it easily.
Hoodwell throws a leg kick
and Hawk decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hoodwell's guard.
Hawk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hoodwell keeping full guard, as Hawk tries to pass.
Hawk is stalling in the full guard.
Hawk drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Hawk seems to have locked his on tight now - Hoodwell screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Hawk, as he picks up the win!
