Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trent Bash (ranked 25005 p4p, 4453 weight class) and Elvis Ervin (ranked 555 p4p, 479 weight class). Elvis Ervin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trent Bash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Elvis Ervin! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Bash tries for a takedown but Ervin circles away easily and Ervin counters with a series of strikes. Bash will be more careful next time no doubt. Trent Bash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bash doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ervin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bash could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ervin leaves Bash with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ervin unleashes a big counter combination but Bash bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trent Bash. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bash shoots in but Ervin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bash misses with a takedown and Ervin counters with a stiff right hand. Bash is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ervin's half guard. Ervin manages to escape and get back to his feet! Bash looks for a takedown but Ervin sprawls well. Ervin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bash with a lazy takedown attempt and Ervin counters with a right hand to the body. Bash changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ervin tries to avoid it but Bash manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ervin to the ground. Ervin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bash has his takedown stuffed and Ervin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bash with a poor takedown and Ervin counters with a left and a right that stings Bash.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ervin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ervin wants it to stay on the feet. Bash misses with a takedown attempt and Ervin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Bash misses with a takedown attempt and Ervin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ervin is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Bash tries for a takedown but Ervin circles away easily and Ervin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bash manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ervin on his heels. He'll look to pass Ervin's guard now, I'm sure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bash drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ervin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bash has Ervin in his guard.

Ervin wants to stand but Bash has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Bash is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ervin is aware though and is defending well. Bash is working an open guard so Ervin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Bash dives in and grabs Ervin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ervin pushes down on Bash's head and hops out. Ervin is looking for the big counter here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Elvis Ervin dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Bash tries for a takedown but Ervin circles away easily and Ervin counters with a left and a right that stings Bash. Bash misses with a takedown and Ervin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ervin displaying some good clinch control by pressing Bash up against the cage. Bash is trying to drag Ervin to the mat but Ervin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. We've been informed that Ervin has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Ervin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bash is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ervin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bash misses with a takedown and Ervin counters with a left and a right that stings Bash. Bash is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ervin defends it well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ervin is trying to stand back up but Bash is controlling him

Elvis Ervin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Bash gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ervin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ervin manages to get full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ervin is trying to keep Bash in close.
Ervin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Bash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ervin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Elvis Ervin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Bash looking for subs off his back but Ervin has passed one foot through into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Elvis Ervin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ervin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
