The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takahashi throws a jab when Welp was well out of range.
Welp takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Greyson Welp has been cut.
Welp throws a head kick but Takahashi moves out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Takahashi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Takahashi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Welp, pushing him back against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Takahashi scores with a nice short uppercut.
Takahashi tries to pull guard but Welp holds him up against the cage and eventually Takahashi drops back down to his feet.
Welp throws a knee to the head but misses.
Welp controlling the action here for a moment.
Takahashi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Takahashi lands a big right hand that drops Welp! The killer instinct kicks in and Takahashi finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Takahashi!
