Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Santos Dumont (ranked 4600 p4p, 4185 weight class) and Toshi Takahashi (ranked 285 p4p, 266 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Santos Dumont! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Toshi Takahashi! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takahashi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dumont's hands. Takahashi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dumont circles away quickly and effectively. Toshi Takahashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dumont fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Takahashi avoids it really well and circles away. Dumont tries to keep at a distance but Takahashi has taken the fight into the clinch. Takahashi has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dumont is trying to keep an underhook but Takahashi manages to get the takedown into half guard. Takahashi scoring with strikes to the body and head. Dumont wants to get back to full guard. Takahashi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dumont is not content to let Takahashi control the position. Still in half guard, Takahashi seems content to control. Dumont is not content to let Takahashi control the position. Dumont is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahashi seems to be working for a kimura but Dumont defends the submission attempt. Takahashi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dumont doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Takahashi. Dumont knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takahashi on the ground. Dumont looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dumont works his way to full guard. Good work. Dumont can't keep his opponent in guard - Takahashi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Takahashi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dumont doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Takahashi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takahashi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dumont wants to get back to full guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dumont actively working from the bottom here. Takahashi is working for a kimura but Dumont is defending it quite comfortably.
Takahashi wants to free his trapped foot but Dumont is holding on for dear life with his legs. Takahashi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Takahashi is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takahashi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dumont keeps working. Dumont regains full guard. Nicely done. Dumont keeping moving, preventing Takahashi from controlling successfully. Takahashi looking to sit in guard and control but Dumont gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Dumont trying to control but Takahashi is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takahashi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Dumont frees his head nicely. Oh but Takahashi has switched to an armbar! Dumont is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
