The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smeshomedov misses with an uppercut. Takahashi saw that one coming.
Smeshomedov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Takahashi on the side of the head.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Smeshomedov!
Smeshomedov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mike Smeshomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takahashi takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smeshomedov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takahashi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Takahashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smeshomedov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Smeshomedov throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Takahashi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Takahashi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Takahashi there as he acknowledges the shot.
Smeshomedov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Smeshomedov closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Takahashi! Smeshomedov dives in looking to finish! Takahashi is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
