Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Smeshomedov (ranked 2300 p4p, 2554 weight class) and Kenji Takahashi (ranked 304 p4p, 337 weight class). Kenji Takahashi has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mike Smeshomedov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Smeshomedov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenji Takahashi! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smeshomedov misses with an uppercut. Takahashi saw that one coming. Smeshomedov fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Takahashi on the side of the head. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Smeshomedov!

Mike Smeshomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takahashi takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smeshomedov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takahashi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Takahashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smeshomedov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Smeshomedov throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Takahashi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Smeshomedov is looking to clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Takahashi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Takahashi there as he acknowledges the shot. Smeshomedov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Smeshomedov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Smeshomedov scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Takahashi is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Smeshomedov closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Takahashi! Smeshomedov dives in looking to finish! Takahashi is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Smeshomedov! An out of breath and clearly excited Mike Smeshomedov thanked Sakura Style for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
