Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Jones (ranked 4356 p4p, 5314 weight class) and Alan West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan West! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones walks into a left hand.
It looks like Charlie Jones has been cut. Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from West. West gets slowly back to his feet. Alan West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. West swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones. Jones clinches. Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
West lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into range. The fight stays on the outside here - West looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. A telegraphed takedown attempt from West is defended easily by Jones. West instigates a clinch. Jones gets control of West's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! West got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, West has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. West wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jones is looking for a triangle but West pushes his legs off easily.
Jones pulls West in close to prevent any damage. West trying to move into half guard but instead Jones has managed to sweep! Jones looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. West is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jones controlling from the top position. Jones pushing down on West's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Jones looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is controlling the pace.
West is looking to improve his position.
Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and West defends it well. West really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones sitting and controlling from the half guard. Jones passes to side control. Jones advances to full mount. West looks winded! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones looking to control and managing it successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Charlie Jones's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Jones throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Jones leaves West with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jones is looking to counter the offense by West and move into the clinch. West shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed West's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. West doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones drops down looking for a counter takedown but West sprawls and moves away. West avoids the head kick by Jones.
Nice straight punches there by West. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of West. West gets caught napping as Jones dives in and scores a takedown. West manages to retain guard. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jones stands and throws West's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jones working the body and head with strikes. West is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jones's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Jones! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and West has tapped! This one is allllll over!
