Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zach Pretzel (ranked 5699 p4p, 4389 weight class) and Mark Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zach Pretzel looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zach Pretzel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Jackson! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Jackson with that takedown attempt. Jackson gets the takedown into side control. Pretzel taking punishment in the form of punches.
Pretzel definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Pretzel is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jackson is controlling him well. Pretzel defending against the ground and pound. Jackson lands a nice forearm strike. Jackson working the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Pretzel works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Jackson scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pretzel is trying to stand up here but Jackson is controlling him well. Jackson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pretzel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Pretzel is breathing heavily. Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pretzel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Jackson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jackson misses with a head shot. Pretzel uses the momentum to regain guard. Pretzel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pretzel tries to get out of the position. Jackson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jackson lands a couple of digs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jackson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jackson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Jackson wants to control from the top but Pretzel keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson lands a couple of elbows. Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pretzel works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jackson cracks Pretzel with a solid left hand. Jackson trying to control but Pretzel is working from the bottom. Jackson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson works over Pretzel with some ground and pound from guard. Jackson with a nice head shot there. Jackson cracks Pretzel with a solid left hand. Jackson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Pretzel is rocked! Jackson gets to his feet and stands over Pretzel, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Pretzel felt that one! Jackson unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Pretzel from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Jackson!
