Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yokihishi Takana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lothar Lavaresh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lothar Lavaresh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yokihishi Takana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lothar Lavaresh!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Takana.
Takana throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lavaresh's waist but Lavaresh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takana off to one side.
Takana could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lavaresh keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yokihishi Takana. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lavaresh scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Takana gets full guard.

Takana throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lavaresh wants to control from the top but Takana keeps moving.
Takana is striking but Lavaresh is not phased and passes to half guard.

Takana is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Takana seems to be working for a kimura but Lavaresh defends the submission attempt.
Takana wants to pass to mount but Lavaresh is defending the position.

Takana misses with a head shot. Lavaresh uses the momentum to regain guard.

Lavaresh is looking to stand up but Takana isn't so interested in that idea.

Takana passes Lavaresh's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lavaresh is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Takana's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Takana's back!

Lavaresh is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Takana has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Takana looking to sit in guard and control but Lavaresh gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takana manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lavaresh tries to hold on but Takana postures up.

Takana lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Takana lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lavaresh hang on?

Takana goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lavaresh is on top in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Yokihishi Takana will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A shot to de liver by Lavaresh. Beautiful body shot.

Lavaresh feints and as Takana raises his hands in defense, Lavaresh changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Takana had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lavaresh is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Takana Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lavaresh's back instead.
Takana scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Lavaresh is looking for a way out.
Takana loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Lavaresh hold on?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Takana patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Takana punches the canvas rather than the man.
Lavaresh tries to escape the position.
Yokihishi Takana overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Takana lands a shot to the head.
Lavaresh manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Takana is now in side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Takana wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lavaresh keeps working.

Takana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The ground and pound from Takana seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Takana misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Takana is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lavaresh has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Takana throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lavaresh because Takana loaded up on that one.

Takana postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lavaresh looks a forlorn figure.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Takana will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Takana is on top in guard.

Lavaresh controls Takana momentarily but Takana frees himself.
Lavaresh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lavaresh tries to clinch up but Takana circles away and keeps his distance.

and Lavaresh counters with a single leg into guard. Takana didn't expect that.

Takana is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lavaresh is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lavaresh has escaped and now he's on top!

I would just about give that final round to Lothar Lavaresh.
I think Takana has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
