Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Chen (ranked 5916 p4p, 4346 weight class) and Jimothy Halpert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Chen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimothy Halpert!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Halpert circles away.
Chen tries to sprawl but Halpert drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Chen kicks off Halpert and gets to his feet.
Halpert throws a nice looking combination but Chen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Halpert shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Anthony Chen has been cut.
Halpert forces Chen back against the cage and clinches.

and Halpert counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chen is trying to control but can't.
Halpert content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Halpert seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Chen tries to clinch up but Halpert circles away and keeps his distance.

Halpert manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chen on his heels. He'll look to pass Chen's guard now, I'm sure.

Chen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Let's hope that Halpert has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Chen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Halpert stacks Chen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Halpert!
Halpert decides to stand up, so the ref orders Chen to his feet.
Halpert darts in and clinches Chen up against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Halpert postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Chen to stand up.
Halpert tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Halpert has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Halpert misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chen attempts a counter takedown but Halpert avoids it well and moves away.
Halpert avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Halpert sprawls well. Halpert wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chen gets slowly back to his feet.

Chen jumps guard but Halpert stands there with Chen around his waist. Chen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

What can Chen do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Halpert is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Chen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Jimothy Halpert comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Halpert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
