Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lalo Jimenez (ranked 4295 p4p, 2668 weight class) and Paul Mandeville (ranked 446 p4p, 308 weight class). Paul Mandeville will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lalo Jimenez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Mandeville! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jimenez has a takedown stuffed. Jimenez looks for a takedown but Mandeville sprawls well. Jimenez shoots in for a takedown but Mandeville shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lalo Jimenez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jimenez shoots in but Mandeville avoids the takedown attempt easily. And Mandeville tries to counter it with a takedown but Jimenez pushes his down on his head and steps out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jimenez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mandeville sprawls well. Mandeville wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jimenez gets slowly back to his feet. Mandeville is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mandeville misses with a straight right. Jimenez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Paul Mandeville is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mandeville jabs Jimenez right on the nose. Jimenez blinks but takes it well. Jimenez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mandeville pinned against the cage. Mandeville gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mandeville is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Mandeville slaps away a takedown attempt from Jimenez, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jimenez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mandeville sprawls well. Mandeville wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jimenez gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jimenez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The strikes coming from Jimenez are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Jimenez in side control, throwing shots but Mandeville defends. Jimenez works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Mandeville wants to get back to his feet. Mandeville is trying to escape the position but Jimenez is controlling the position. Jimenez in side control, throwing shots but Mandeville defends.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jimenez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mandeville, who protects the arm well. Jimenez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jimenez is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Mandeville is trying to escape and Jimenez transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Mandeville is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jimenez! Very nice indeed!
