This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 49 wins and 27 losses; Shane MacGowan! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 38 wins and 26 losses; Jackson Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Ramirez shoots in for a takedown but MacGowan shows good takedown defense. Ramirez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. MacGowan tries to avoid it but Ramirez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag MacGowan to the ground. MacGowan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. MacGowan drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ramirez sprawls and moves away. MacGowan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramirez circles away. Ramirez goes for a double leg but MacGowan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as MacGowan continues to drive forward. Shane MacGowan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Ramirez. MacGowan dives in and scores a takedown into Ramirez's guard. I've been told that Ramirez has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. MacGowan trying to control the action but Ramirez just sinks the hooks in. MacGowan can't escape the position.
Ramirez has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of MacGowan's body.

Ramirez is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. MacGowan is defending well though. Ramirez let's go of the attempt for now. MacGowan tries to break free.
