Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Brick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Brick will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Brick!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans dives in and grabs Brick's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brick pushes down on Evans's head and hops out.

Brick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Evans struggling a bit here.
Brick has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Brick cracks Evans with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Brick is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Evans is surviving well by controlling Brick's body position as best he can.

Brick goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Evans is on top in guard.
Brick lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Evans!

Brick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Brick cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Evans is in a horrible position here. Brick smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Brick prevents Evans from getting the reversal.
Evans might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Brick postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Evans looks a forlorn figure.
Evans wants to control but Brick is having none of it.

Evans is bucking up trying to escape but Brick cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Evans tries to lock up and control but Brick gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Brick has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Evans's face.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Brick tries for a takedown but Evans circles away easily

and Evans counters with a shoot takedown. Brick fights it but they end up in guard.

Evans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Evans bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brick's guard.

Brick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Evans gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brick is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Evans is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Brick is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Evans is doing well to control the position and prevent Brick from advancing to side control.

Evans is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Brick is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Brick misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brick avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Brick rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Evans moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Evans closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Evans shoots in and drives through. Brick sprawls well.

Brick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Evans looks for a takedown but Brick sprawls well.
Brick lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evans circles away quickly and effectively.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Brick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Evans counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brick won't be happy with that.

Evans has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Brick is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Evans yanks on the arm and Brick is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Evans.
