Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zach Pretzel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guy Wednesday!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wednesday dives in and grabs Pretzel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pretzel pushes down on Wednesday's head and hops out.

Wednesday shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pretzel's guard.

Pretzel pushes Wednesday off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Zach Pretzel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wednesday keeps the fight on the outside.
Wednesday shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pretzel but Pretzel pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wednesday drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pretzel tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wednesday keeps control of the position easily here as Pretzel tries to buck him off.

Let's hope that Wednesday has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Wednesday turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Wednesday manages to end up in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wednesday scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Pretzel to see if he's OK.

Wednesday is pushing Pretzel up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Pretzel tries for a takedown but Wednesday manages to get underhooks.

Wednesday has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pretzel regains guard immediately.
Wednesday controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Wednesday passes Pretzel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pretzel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pretzel tries to get out of the position.
Wednesday takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wednesday has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Pretzel takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Wednesday sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Wednesday lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wednesday with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Guy Wednesday showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Wednesday throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pretzel's waist but Pretzel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wednesday off to one side.
Pretzel throws a series of punches but Wednesday moves out of range.
Pretzel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wednesday has got one arm under Pretzel's chin. This could be trouble... Pretzel trying to control the other hand but Wednesday gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Pretzel has tapped out! The fight is over!
