This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 33 wins and 28 losses; The Reverend Jim Ignatowski! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 25 losses; David McDonald! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Ignatowski leaves McDonald with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ignatowski stuffs the takedown. McDonald shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ignatowski pinned against the cage. Ignatowski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The Reverend Jim Ignatowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David McDonald. No luck with that takedown attempt from McDonald. Ignatowski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McDonald. Ignatowski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McDonald might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ignatowski haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ignatowski has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, McDonald has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
