Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Ezumi (ranked 5172 p4p, 4308 weight class) and Renzo Charitie (ranked 273 p4p, 203 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renzo Charitie!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Ezumi pushes Charitie up against the cage in a clinch.

Ezumi pulls guard.

Ezumi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Charitie tries to free his leg and advance position but Ezumi is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ezumi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Charitie controls from within his opponent's guard.

Charitie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ezumi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Charitie passes into half guard.
Ezumi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Charitie is working away from the top position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Charitie slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ezumi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ezumi looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Ezumi is looking to control Charitie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ezumi avoid being mounted?
Charitie content to control rather than advance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Charitie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Charitie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ezumi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Charitie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ezumi is tightening it up a little... Charitie has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Charitie reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Charitie taps out! Nice BJJ there by Ezumi!
