PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tamas Lakatos (ranked 3690 p4p, 4335 weight class) and Jack Johnson Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lakatos has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Tamas Lakatos has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Johnson Jr!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johnson Jr is looking to clinch but Lakatos is avoiding it.
Lakatos swings for the body but Johnson Jr moves out of range.
And Johnson Jr tries to counter it with a takedown but Lakatos pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Johnson Jr might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lakatos haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Lakatos clobbers Johnson Jr with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Johnson Jr is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lakatos is just riding it out for now. Johnson Jr eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson Jr is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lakatos sees it coming and defends easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Johnson Jr works his foot free and advances to mount.
Lakatos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lakatos tries to get out of the position.

Lakatos thows a left - swing and a miss!

Johnson Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Lakatos gets double underhooks and turns Johnson Jr into the cage.

Johnson Jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lakatos's waist but Lakatos gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson Jr off to one side.

and Lakatos counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tamas Lakatos.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lakatos, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
