Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenny Dugan!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cooper takes the fight into the clinch.
Dugan is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Cooper has Dugan pressed against the cage, preventing Dugan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Dugan tries to pull guard but Cooper won't allow it.

Cooper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dugan is aware though and is defending well.
Dugan wants to pass the guard but Cooper is keeping the position.
We've been hearing good reports from Cooper's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Cooper pulls Dugan in close to prevent any damage.

Dugan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooper has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dugan has managed to get both his arms back between Cooper's legs - danger averted.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cooper.
Dugan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cooper as he jumps to the side.

Dugan gets tackled into the cage by Cooper. Cooper maintains the clinch.
Cooper is working for takedown but Dugan is calmly controlling the position for now.

Dugan misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Cooper avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Dugan tries to clinch up but Cooper circles away and keeps his distance.
Cooper shoots in for a takedown but Dugan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dugan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cooper swats him away and circles back towards the center.
As Dugan looks to move away, Cooper throws a big counter combo but Dugan just gets out of the way.
Dugan throws a head kick but Cooper moves out of range.

Cooper moves into range and clinches up with Dugan.
Dugan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Cooper pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Cooper jumps guard and drags Dugan to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

My spies in Rio Grappling Club inform me that Dugan has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Dugan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cooper does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dugan is looking to clinch but Cooper is avoiding it.

Dugan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A quick step to the side and Cooper tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dugan, pushing him back against the cage.
Dugan jumps guard but Cooper stands there with Dugan around his waist. Dugan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cooper manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Dugan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cooper walks away with a smile on his face. Dugan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dugan tries to clinch but Cooper is having none of it.
Cooper shoots in for a double leg but Dugan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cooper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dugan.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Cooper misses with a takedown attempt - Dugan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Dugan has taken the fight to the clinch.

Dugan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cooper is proving hard to escape from.

Dugan is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cooper is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dugan to the mat. Dugan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cooper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
