Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kemp sprawls well. Kemp wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Duncan gets slowly back to his feet.
Kemp shoots in for a double leg but Duncan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A low kick from Duncan is predictable there

and Kemp counters with a head kick that drops Duncan to the mat! Duncan scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Kemp bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Kemp stalls from top position.
Duncan is looking for a sweep.
Duncan tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Kemp easily slips into full mount!

Duncan can't escape the position.
Duncan is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Duncan tries to lock up and control but Kemp gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Duncan manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kemp seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Duncan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Duncan wants to improve his position but Kemp is controlling well.

Duncan wants to control from the top but Kemp keeps moving.

Duncan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
My spies in Rio Grappling Club inform me that Duncan has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kemp is trying to control the position but Duncan postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kemp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duncan tries to avoid it but Kemp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duncan to the ground. Duncan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joel Kemp. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kemp misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duncan misses with a jab, cross combination.
It looked like Kemp was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kemp stuffs the takedown attempt from Duncan. Duncan gets slowly back to his feet.
Duncan shoots in for a takedown but Kemp shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duncan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kemp to keep the fight standing.

Kemp manages to break the clinch.
Duncan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kemp but Kemp pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kemp wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Duncan shoots in but no luck this time.

Kemp shoots in looking for a takedown but Duncan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kemp's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Duncan shoots in for a takedown but Kemp shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kemp tries to counter by clinching up but Duncan breaks away and moves out of range.

Kemp closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duncan tries to circle away but Kemp has him pinned against the cage.
Kemp throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Kemp is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Duncan can do to turn this around?

Kemp is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Duncan rolls with it to try and escape but Kemp cranks on the arm and Duncan is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
