Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vu Viet Hu (ranked 2419 p4p, 4648 weight class) and Great Tiger (ranked 169 p4p, 286 weight class). Great Tiger has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vu Viet Hu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 51 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Great Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiger throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hu misses with a takedown
and Tiger counters with a right hand to the body.
Tiger's coach down at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tiger's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tiger pinned against the cage. Tiger gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tiger fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Tiger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vu Viet Hu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That kick from Tiger tenderised Hu's leg. Hu is trying to keep his angry face on.
Tiger lands a leg kick that knocks Hu off balance momentarily.
Tiger feints and then cracks Hu's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hu down.

Hu drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tiger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hu has gone for a leg lock! Tiger slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hu's guard.

Hu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tiger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tiger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tiger is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hu has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Tiger is looking to defend but Hu has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Tiger! Hu pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Tiger taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vu Viet Hu!
