Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Al Din Kader (ranked 5129 p4p, 4853 weight class) and Rusty Codi (ranked 539 p4p, 530 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mohammed Al Din Kader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rusty Codi!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Codi takes one to the side of the head.
Codi tries to clinch up but Al Din Kader circles away and keeps his distance.
Al Din Kader getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Codi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Al Din Kader avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Al Din Kader checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Codi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Al Din Kader counters with a right hand to the body.

and Al Din Kader counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Codi misses with a shot to the body
and Codi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mohammed Al Din Kader is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Codi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Al Din Kader controlling the position for now.
Codi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Al Din Kader moves into full guard.
Codi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Al Din Kader bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Codi's guard.

Codi looking to control but Al Din Kader passes into half guard.
Codi is looking to improve his position.

Codi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Al Din Kader pulls his head out easily.
Al Din Kader slows the pace down in half guard.

Al Din Kader continues to stall.
Codi tries to roll over but Al Din Kader keeps him under control.
Codi is trying to control but can't.

Al Din Kader stands up and beckons Codi to join him on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Al Din Kader counters with a nice uppercut.

Al Din Kader lands a big uppercut and Codi crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Codi looks OK. Al Din Kader waves Codi back to his feet!

Codi is rocked!
Rusty Codi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Al Din Kader connects with a solid leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Al Din Kader.
It looks like Al Din Kader has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Codi tries for a takedown but Al Din Kader circles away easily
and Al Din Kader counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Al Din Kader is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Codi looks winded!
Al Din Kader throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Al Din Kader feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Codi sprawling to the canvas! Codi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Al Din Kader finish him?!

Codi is aggressively charging in as Al Din Kader backs up avoiding any damage. Al Din Kader tosses out a jab and Codi runs right into it face first! Codi is out cold! Al Din Kader dropped down on all fours and is barking in Codi's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mohammed Al Din Kader!
Mohammed Al Din Kader spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
