Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guy Monday! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Equilibrium! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Equilibrium decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Monday looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Monday is defending against the submission attempts here by Equilibrium.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Equilibrium looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Equilibrium is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Monday defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Equilibrium looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Monday with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Monday is defending against the submission attempts here by Equilibrium.
