Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Charitie (ranked 5415 p4p, 4740 weight class) and Franz Klostermann (ranked 302 p4p, 232 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renzo Charitie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Franz Klostermann!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Klostermann throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Charitie was covering up waiting for the punch and Klostermann finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Klostermann looking to sit in guard and control but Charitie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Charitie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klostermann is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Charitie is aware though and is defending well.

Klostermann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Charitie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Charitie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Klostermann is trying to keep Charitie in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Klostermann looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Klostermann has his foot on Charitie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Charitie works his way back into a safe position though.
Klostermann looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Klostermann is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Charitie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Klostermann has an active guard here but Charitie has managed to pass into half guard.
Klostermann is looking to control Charitie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Klostermann avoid being mounted?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Charitie stalling.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Charitie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
As Klostermann tries to get set, Charitie tries to push him back and clinch up but Klostermann manages to avoid the attempt.

Charitie tries to sprawl but Klostermann drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Klostermann wants to lay and pray for a moment but Charitie keeps working.

Klostermann is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've been informed that Klostermann has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Klostermann is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Charitie to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Charitie pulls Klostermann in close to prevent any damage.

Klostermann drops back looking for a leg! Charitie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Charitie manages to kick Klostermann off! Klostermann jumps back into Charitie's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Klostermann had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Charitie defends it easily.

Charitie won't allow Klostermann to sweep him here.
Charitie tries to free his leg and advance position but Klostermann is retaining full guard.

Klostermann is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Charitie defends well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Klostermann makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Klostermann.

Charitie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Klostermann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Klostermann is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Charitie rolls with it to try and escape but Klostermann cranks on the arm and Charitie is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
