The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Herrera tries to keep at a distance but Athelstan has taken the fight into the clinch.

Athelstan gets through Herrera 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Herrera wants to break the clinch but can't.
Herrera tries to circle away but Athelstan has him pinned against the cage.
Herrera wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Herrera blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Athelstan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Herrera blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Athelstan throws a head punch that misses.

Herrera is trying to break the clinch but Athelstan has him pressed against the cage.
Athelstan pushes off an throws an elbow but Herrera leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

It looks like Rico Herrera has been cut.
Athelstan dips a shoulder and cracks Herrera with a mighty uppercut! Herrera falls back against the cage and Athelstan unloads with a barrage of strikes! Herrera is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Athelstan screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
