These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Black!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black throws a nice looking combination but West bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
West tries to counter with a takedown but Black is quick to defend against it.
West lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Anthony Black has been cut.
Good standup being displayed there by West as he connects with a hook.
West with a jab.
Black swings for the body but West moves out of range.
We've been told by West's head coaches at Mike Jones MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Black gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
West connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Black momentarily.

Black is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! West has cracked Black with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! West lands another huge swinging hook and Black tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Black, before West can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ripley West!
Ripley West decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Anthony Black spoke after the fight, saying 'I promise to learn from this. I'm going to come back badder than ever. '.
