Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb DeCoteau (ranked 2089 p4p, 658 weight class) and Tino Takala (ranked 303 p4p, 96 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Caleb DeCoteau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Tino Takala! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeCoteau throws a low kick but it's checked well by Takala. Takala misses with an uppercut. Takala takes a kick to the side of the head. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. DeCoteau ducks under a wild hook from Takala. DeCoteau closes the distance and pushes Takala back into the cage. Takala is trying to force a seperation but DeCoteau has the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takala breaks the clinch.
Takala looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. DeCoteau is looking to counter the offense by Takala and move into the clinch. DeCoteau misses with a wild body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeCoteau takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Takala slaps away a takedown attempt from DeCoteau, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Takala. No joy for DeCoteau on that attempt. Takala unleashes a big counter combination but DeCoteau bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. DeCoteau drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. DeCoteau trying to control the position but Takala is working away. DeCoteau taking a break here but Takala is having none of it and regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DeCoteau trying to control from half guard but Takala is working away. DeCoteau wants to pass to mount but Takala is defending the position. DeCoteau seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Takala has recovered full guard. DeCoteau wants to control from the top but Takala keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeCoteau stops Takala from standing up. DeCoteau in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. DeCoteau controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Takala is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst DeCoteau is controlling him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. DeCoteau is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takala. Takala throws out a counter right but DeCoteau avoids it with no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. DeCoteau fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caleb DeCoteau. That's going to take a lot out of him. DeCoteau looks to throw a body kick and Takala counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. DeCoteau throws a half hearted mid kick. Takala unleashes a big counter combination but DeCoteau bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. DeCoteau bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takala's head backwards. Takala takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! DeCoteau throws a low kick but it's checked well by Takala. DeCoteau misses with a combination
and Takala counters with a nice body shot. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tino Takala will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! DeCoteau throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Takala connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Takala throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and DeCoteau counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Takala misses with a looping left. Takala wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. DeCoteau wants to clinch and Takala connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. DeCoteau with a lazy takedown attempt and Takala connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. DeCoteau rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Takala counters with a good low kick that DeCoteau was not able to check.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takala closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Caleb DeCoteau has been cut. DeCoteau misses with a wild body shot. DeCoteau takes one to the side of the head.
A solid body kick from Takala. DeCoteau throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Takala's waist but Takala gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing DeCoteau off to one side. DeCoteau misses with a double jab.
Takala throws a head kick that half lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DeCoteau tries to clinch up and Takala counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Takala lands a jab-cross combination. This has been an exciting period of action! DeCoteau lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. DeCoteau lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. DeCoteau forces Takala back against the cage and clinches. Takala is trying to break the clinch but DeCoteau has him pressed against the cage.

Takala has been the more effective fighter overall so far. DeCoteau jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Takala walks away with a smile on his face. DeCoteau gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caleb DeCoteau. That's going to take a lot out of him. Takala turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Takala explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. DeCoteau is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. DeCoteau blocks the body kick.
Takala throws a series of punches but DeCoteau moves out of range. DeCoteau feinted with a counter takedown. DeCoteau is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takala. Caleb DeCoteau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takala scoring well with a low kick there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeCoteau throws a body shot but no joy. Takala doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. DeCoteau keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
DeCoteau swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. DeCoteau works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Takala has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. DeCoteau avoids the head kick by Takala.
DeCoteau throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Takala throws out a counter right but DeCoteau avoids it with no problem. The fight stays on the outside here - DeCoteau looks like he's thinking about clinching though. It seemed like Takala was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tino Takala showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Caleb DeCoteau's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! DeCoteau looks to score with a jab to the body but Takala is just out of range. DeCoteau is looking to clinch. As DeCoteau backs off Takala throws a huge counter combo but DeCoteau manages to avoid it all. Takala throws a wild body kick that DeCoteau sees coming a mile off. Takala lands with a straight right. DeCoteau didn't see that one coming. Takala misses with an uppercut
and DeCoteau moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takala escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Takala throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Takala works DeCoteau's body with a nice hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Takala. DeCoteau misses with a low kick.
Takala unleashes a big counter combination but DeCoteau bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Takala drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Takala throws a nice outside leg kick. Takala misses with a body kick. DeCoteau moves into the clinch successfully.
Takala keeps the fight in the clinch, despite DeCoteau's efforts to push away. DeCoteau stalls.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takala is trying to break the clinch but DeCoteau is controlling him. Takala breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Some wild striking there from DeCoteau.
Takala looks like he wants to counter punch here. Takala lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Takala throws a low kick but it's checked well by DeCoteau. DeCoteau fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takala throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Takala fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. DeCoteau checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. DeCoteau is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Takala. DeCoteau clinches with his opponent.
DeCoteau stalling in the clinch but Takala improves position. Takala wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but DeCoteau has him pressed against the cage. DeCoteau looking for a takedown. Takala is trying to force a seperation but DeCoteau has the dominant position. DeCoteau keeps control of Takala as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeCoteau keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Takala's efforts to push away. DeCoteau stalling.
DeCoteau pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. DeCoteau dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Takala. That did some damage! DeCoteau tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Takala throws out a counter right but DeCoteau avoids it with no problem. DeCoteau gets a clinch. DeCoteau tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Takala just stands there and leans against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A frustrated look appears on Takala's face as he tries to break the clinch. Caleb DeCoteau has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Takala wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Takala breaks from the clinch.
Takala throws a leg kick which misses DeCoteau's front leg but catches the back leg as DeCoteau tries to avoid it.
And that's the end of the fight! Tino Takala comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Takala winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
