Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Kekoa (ranked 1158 p4p, 2355 weight class) and Binsar Siregar (ranked 161 p4p, 304 weight class). Kekoa comes to the cage accompanied by Freelance Fiend. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 21 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Kekoa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Binsar Siregar! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Siregar moves out of range of the strikes. Kekoa throws a jab when Siregar was well out of range. Kekoa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Far-Q Fight Club in the buildup to the fight. An inside leg kick lands from Kekoa. Kekoa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kekoa wants it to stay on the feet. A jab from Kekoa misses. Kekoa throws a right hand that misses
and Siregar counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kekoa thinking. Eddie Kekoa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kekoa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Siregar is looking for the big counter here. A jab lands there for Kekoa. Siregar drives through and clinches with Kekoa against the cage.
Kekoa lands a right hand. Siregar is working for takedown but Kekoa is calmly controlling the position for now. Kekoa blocks an elbow strike. Siregar tightens his grip and picks Kekoa up, before dumping him to the ground. Kekoa manages to land in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kekoa is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Siregar is on top in guard.

Kekoa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Siregar trying to control the position from guard on top but Kekoa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kekoa looking for a sweep. Not yet Kekoa, not yet. Siregar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Siregar wants to control from the top but Kekoa keeps moving. Siregar tries to free his leg and advance position but Kekoa is retaining full guard. Kekoa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Siregar manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kekoa throws a hook but Siregar blocks it. Siregar wants to counter the offense by Kekoa and move into the clinch position. Eddie Kekoa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kekoa takes a swing at Siregar's ribcage but misses. Siregar is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Siregar takes a jab right on the kisser.

and Siregar counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Kekoa misses with an uppercut. Siregar shoots in for a takedown but Kekoa shows good takedown defense. Eddie Kekoa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Binsar Siregar. Siregar drives through with a takedown into guard. Siregar throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kekoa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Siregar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Siregar working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Kekoa keeping moving, preventing Siregar from controlling successfully. Kekoa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Siregar won't allow Kekoa to sweep him here. Siregar cracks Kekoa with a solid left hand. Kekoa keeping full guard, as Siregar tries to pass. Siregar wants to control from the top but Kekoa keeps moving. Kekoa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Siregar throwing strikes from guard but Kekoa blocks nicely. Kekoa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Eddie Kekoa will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Kekoa missing with a left hand there. Siregar was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Siregar walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kekoa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Siregar. Kekoa lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A low kick lands for Kekoa.

Binsar Siregar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kekoa tries to bum rush Siregar with a series of wild strikes but Siregar uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Donk. Siregar catches Kekoa right on the button with a cross. Kekoa throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Siregar counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. The fight moves into the clinch position. This has been an exciting period of action! Kekoa throws an elbow but it misses.

Siregar with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kekoa to score with a decent uppercut. Siregar slips a straight right by Kekoa. Despite the aggression on Siregar's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Siregar clinches up against the cage. Kekoa misses with a hook from the clinch. Siregar wants a takedown.

Kekoa looks to land a right hand but Siregar moved out of range. Kekoa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kekoa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are battling for position here. Siregar manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Siregar looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kekoa passes into side control.

Kekoa is trying to get an arm triangle but Siregar is defending well. Siregar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Eddie Kekoa dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. The fighters circling - Kekoa throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kekoa takes a swing at Siregar's ribcage but misses. Kekoa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Siregar sees it coming and avoids it easily. Siregar raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Siregar paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kekoa tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Siregar is able to avoid easily. Kekoa lands with a cross. Kekoa throws a looping overhand right but Siregar ducks down to avoid it. Siregar closes the distance and clinches. Kekoa breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Siregar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kekoa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. No luck so far. Siregar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Siregar trying to control the position from guard on top but Kekoa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kekoa holds on and takes a little breather. Kekoa keeping moving, preventing Siregar from controlling successfully.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Kekoa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Siregar sees it coming and avoids it easily. Siregar tries to counter with a clinch but Kekoa shakes him off and moves away.

Siregar rushes Kekoa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Siregar works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eddie Kekoa. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kekoa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
