Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Rhat (ranked 1566 p4p, 2059 weight class) and Manco Capac (ranked 210 p4p, 272 weight class). Rhat comes to the cage accompanied by Das Ist It. Capac has chosen Iggy Pop - The Passenger as his entrance music. Manco Capac has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jim Rhat's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Rhat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Manco Capac! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Damien Edna and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rhat fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Rhat shoots in but no luck this time. Rhat shoots in for a takedown but Capac shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Capac drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rhat defends it well. Rhat shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Capac but Capac pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've been told by Rhat's head coaches at The Jungle Room that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Rhat. That's going to take a lot out of him. Capac moves out of range of the strikes. Capac with the counter takedown but Rhat avoids it easily. Rhat will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rhat finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Capac feints the counter takedown. Rhat shoots and misses and Capac counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Capac. Rhat has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Capac has passed into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Capac lands a nice forearm strike. Capac creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Rhat manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Capac scoring with strikes to the body and head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Capac connects with a nice short shot to Rhat's temple.
Rhat is rocked! Rhat is trying to get back to full guard. Oh Rhat is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Capac slips a nice elbow through Rhat's hands, connecting with Rhat's forehead. Capac is trying to control. Rhat wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rhat seems to have got his legs back now. Rhat on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Manco Capac dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Rhat tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Capac defends well and Rhat ends up having to push Capac into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Capac feints the counter takedown. A short body shot lands from Capac as the two fighters clinch.
A short right from Capac on the inside. Rhat decides to pull guard. Capac scoring with some ground and pound. Capac with a nice head shot there. Manco Capac has got the better of the ground game so far. Capac wants to control from the top but Rhat keeps moving. Rhat looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rhat manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Capac manages to get himself to full guard.
Capac has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rhat should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Capac has tightened it up now! Rhat should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
