PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sada Baby (ranked 4240 p4p, 4370 weight class) and Jeff Jeff (ranked 445 p4p, 450 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sada Baby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Jeff!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Jeff coming out on top.

Jeff closes the distance and clinches.
Baby lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jeff backwards.

It looks like Jeff Jeff has been cut.
Jeff is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Baby to keep the fight standing.
Jeff is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Baby is keeping busy.
Jeff is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Jeff seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks.

Baby lands a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baby is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jeff looking to control but Baby passes into half guard.
Baby controlling the action here.
Baby has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Baby lands strikes from half guard.
Jeff is looking for a sweep. Baby is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Baby keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jeff with a lazy takedown attempt

and Baby holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Baby has picked Jeff up - he's going for a ride! Baby dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Jeff is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Baby is thwarting Jeff's attempts to control the position.
Baby keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Baby working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jeff is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Baby pulls his head out easily.
Jeff is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Baby content to control rather than advance.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jeff misses the shot to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sada Baby dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jeff Jeff's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Jeff fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jeff fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
As Jeff tries to get set, Baby tries to push him back and clinch up but Jeff manages to avoid the attempt.
Jeff shoots for a takedown but Baby saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jeff dodges the punch combination from Baby.
Jeff is looking for the big counter here.

Baby closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jeff's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baby not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Baby won't allow Jeff to sweep him here.
Baby slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jeff wants to sweep here but Baby controlling him for the moment.

Jeff isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Baby stacks Jeff on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Baby!
Jeff is breathing heavily.
Jeff is being controlled here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jeff looking for a sweep but Baby has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Baby lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Jeff is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Baby controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sada Baby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Baby's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jeff tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jeff wants to hold on but Baby pushes him away.
Baby controlling from mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jeff is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff shoots in and drives through. Baby sprawls well.
Jeff shoots in looking for a takedown. Baby tries to sprawl out of it but Jeff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baby manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Baby seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Jeff is looking to clinch.
Baby throws a series of punches but Jeff avoids them all with ease.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jeff is trying to drag Baby to the mat but Baby just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sada Baby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Jeff.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baby has picked Jeff up - he's going for a ride! Baby dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Further stalling from Baby.
Baby looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Baby tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jeff knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Baby is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jeff can do to turn this around?

Baby is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jeff's shoulder. That is not cool.
Jeff trying his best to control but Baby has mounted him.

Baby controlling the position easily from mount.
Jeff is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jeff takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Baby controlling his opponent.

Sada Baby showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Baby has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
