Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Hurst (ranked 2383 p4p, 3061 weight class) and Char Donnay (ranked 279 p4p, 351 weight class). The key to victory for Gordon Hurst has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Char Donnay!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurst with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Donnay fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hurst manages to avoid it.
Hurst avoids a kick to the body.
Hurst scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hurst definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Donnay moves out of range of the body kick from Hurst.

and Hurst connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It appears Hurst was looking to counter with a kick there.
Donnay tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hurst paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fighters circle momentarily. Hurst darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hurst throws the left hand but Donnay avoids the punch easily.

Donnay feints and as Hurst raises his hands in defense, Donnay changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Donnay wants to pass the guard but Hurst is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Donnay has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Oh Hurst is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Donnay in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Hurst looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Donnay turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

After winning the bout, Char Donnay thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
