The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Cunningham looks to land a left hand but Goodson moved out of range nicely.
Goodson throws a hook but Cunningham avoids it easily.
Cunningham slips a straight right by Goodson.
Aaron Goodson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've been hearing reports that Cunningham has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Goodson tries to move into range but Cunningham moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Cunningham lands with a nice body punch.
Goodson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cunningham was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Goodson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Goodson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cunningham takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Cunningham shoots in but Goodson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Goodson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Cunningham with a body shot.

Cunningham drives through with a takedown into guard.
Goodson is looking to stand up but Cunningham isn't so interested in that idea.
Cunningham lands a couple of digs.

Cunningham throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Goodson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cunningham seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Goodson is trying to control the position but Cunningham postures up.
Goodson wants to sweep but no luck.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cunningham connects with a nice short shot to Goodson's temple.
Goodson is staying active underneath Cunningham, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Cunningham is taking a breather. Goodson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Goodson is bucking up trying to escape but Cunningham cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Cunningham lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Cunningham drops a big elbow. That's hurt Goodson! More shots from Cunningham and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
