PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 4564 p4p, 4846 weight class) and Taker Bond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Taker Bond was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decent striking displayed by Bond there. Diaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bond kicks Diaz off and gets to his feet. Bond connects with a jab. Bond fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Diaz on the side of the head. Diaz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bond defends well and Diaz ends up having to push Bond into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Bond throws out a counter right but Diaz avoids it with no problem. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bond wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Diaz has hold of one of Bond's legs. Bond is fighting the takedown attempt but Diaz gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Diaz controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bond wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Diaz's hips, looking to push off. But Diaz grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Bond screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Nate Diaz!
