Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Jackson (ranked 4590 p4p, 4523 weight class) and Kirsnick Khari Ball (ranked 429 p4p, 422 weight class). Kirsnick Khari Ball will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kirsnick Khari Ball! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ball moves into the clinch successfully.
Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ball pinned against the cage. Ball gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ball tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes. Jackson jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet. Jackson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Ball forces Jackson back against the cage and clinches. Ball throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Ball tries to break free but Jackson pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ball has clasped his hands together around Jackson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Jackson throws Ball to one side and escapes! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ball fails to land the takedown. Charles Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kirsnick Khari Ball.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ball, pushing him back against the cage. Jackson landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Ball pulls guard effortlessly. Jackson stays in close to Ball's body and controls the position. Jackson gets to his feet - Ball follows without any prompting. Ball has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.
Jackson is pushing Ball up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Ball blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ball blocks a body shot from Jackson. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. I was talking to Jackson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A battle for position here, against the cage. Ball fails to pull guard.

Ball's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ball duly obliges. Ball closes the distance and clinches. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Ball blocks the elbow strike.
Ball has Jackson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jackson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Jackson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Jackson. Ball is looking for a takedown. Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ball has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.

Ball plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Nice sprawl there from Jackson as Ball shoots in. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ball paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ball swings for the body but Jackson moves out of range.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Jackson stalls. Jackson tries to land a knee to the head but Ball blocks with his arms.

He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Jackson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jackson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ball trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather. Ball controls from within his opponent's guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Charles Jackson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ball shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jackson defends it nicely. Ball throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily. Jackson is looking to counter the offense by Ball and move into the clinch. Ball forces Jackson back against the cage and clinches. Jackson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ball looking for a sweep. Not yet Ball, not yet. Ball not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jackson stands up and waves to Ball to follow him. Ball clinches with his opponent.
Ball jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Ball around his waist. Ball gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Charles Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kirsnick Khari Ball. Jackson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ball is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jackson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ball's elbow. Jackson tries to pull guard but Ball forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jackson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ball is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ball tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jackson smiles and moves away.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson. Ball lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jackson backs up against the cage.

Ball shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ball's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. As Ball tries to get set, Jackson tries to push him back and clinch up but Ball manages to avoid the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ball fails with a takedown attempt. Jackson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Jackson dives in and scores a takedown into Ball's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson wants to control from the top but Ball keeps moving. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ball is trying to keep Jackson in close.
Jackson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ball's guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kirsnick Khari Ball showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Charles Jackson's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Jackson forces Ball back against the cage and clinches. Jackson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Jackson drags the fight down to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ball gets to his feet - Jackson follows without any prompting. Ball pushes Jackson up against the cage in a clinch. Ball pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ball moves into range and clinches up with Jackson. Jackson tries to break free but Ball pushes him back against the cage. Ball drags the fight down to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jackson trying to control but Ball is working from the bottom. Ball looking for a guillotine here but Jackson defends easily.
Jackson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Ball is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Kirsnick Khari Ball comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ball has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
