PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kale Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. Martin has chosen Got Money by Lil Wayne as his entrance music. Kale Cruz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kale Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Martin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin tries to clinch up but Cruz circles away and keeps his distance.

and Martin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Martin.

You can see the frustration on Cruz's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Martin is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Martin gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Martin gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Martin apologises and we restart here on the feet.

and Martin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cruz!

Martin has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cruz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cruz is on top in guard.

Cruz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Martin has picked Cruz up - he's going for a ride! Martin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Well, if Martin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ryan Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Martin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
