The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gawad shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gawad showed some decent athleticism there.
Myers preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Myers gets full guard.
Myers seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Myers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gawad doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gawad manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Myers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Myers tries to get out of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gawad drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Myers dives on top into guard.

Gawad can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Myers controls the pace.
Myers pushes down on Gawad's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Myers drops an elbow to the side of Gawad's head.
Myers working over Gawad with some ground and pound. Gawad looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Myers seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Gawad is rocked!
Myers sitting in half guard here. He lands a big elbow that has hurt Gawad! Oh, Gawad is in big trouble! Myers lands more strikes and the ref dives in to save him! The fight is over!
